Robert Holland joined his first pipe band, the Monkstown and Mossley School's Pipe Band, at his local school back in 1983, under the direction of Winston Pollock and Tom Buchanan. Robert was a drummer in the band when they won the conveted Novice Juvenile World title in 1986. The school band continued to move through the grades from Novice juvenile to Grade 1.
Robert then joined the drum corp of the Royal Ulster Constabulary to play under the leading drummer, Gary Corkin.
Robert won many major drumming titles with the Royal Ulster Constabulary including the Worlds, British and Cowal and numerous other local championships.
Robert immigrated to Canada in 2004 and currently lives in Vancouver.
He is excited to be joining the new Dowco drum corp and reuniting with Gary Corkin. He is also really looking forward to getting back into the competition arena with the Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band under the direction of Pipe Major Hilder.
