Josh joins us from Bendigo, Australia and began piping under the tutelage of Pipe Major Fred Roberts at the age of 7.

He joined the historic Golden City Pipe Band of Bendigo whom at the time had a Juvenile, Grade 4 and Grade 2 band. He progressed through the various grades with “The City” culminating in many prizes at the local, state and national championships.

As Bendigo was a short trip from Melbourne, Josh was lucky to receive and be exposed to the legendary World Champion, Victoria Police Pipe Band and was tutored by many of the Vic Police players including PM Nat Russel, Adrian Melvin, Murray Blair, Neil MacDonald, Ian Lyons and many others.

Josh left the pipe band scene after high school as his work and study lead him in various directions both in Australia and overseas.

After a nearly 20-year hiatus from bagpipes, whilst living in Germany in late 2015, Josh re-joined the piping ranks as a member of the then Grade 2 Antwerp and District Pipe Band for one successful season in Europe and the UK.

He later joined the Triumph Street Pipe Band in May 2017, and was very happy to compete with the band for the 2017 Worlds, of that year.

Now based in Charleston, South Carolina, Josh and his wife Leslie and 2 young sons, Oliver and Jackson, enjoy coastal living and southern hospitality at it’s finest while looking forward to the next big challenge life has to offer.
