Originally from Manotick, Ontario, Allie can't remember an August long weekend not spent at the Maxville highland games. After years of begging her parents, she started piping at the age of 11 under the instruction of John Wright. She was a co-founder of the Sam Scott Memorial Pipe Band and also played with the RCMP (NCR) and Glengarry pipe bands while finishing high school. Allie then began her long trek westward, studying first at McMaster University, taking occasional piping lessons with Bob Worrall and playing with the Hamilton Police. Grad school brought her to Edmonton, Alberta, where she played with Viscount Park and had the opportunity to perform at the Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany in 2014. She landed in Vancouver in September 2015 and is excited to be playing with Triumph Street this year.

Allie is also a first-class nerd, holding an M.Sc. in physics and working as an experimental physicist for D-Wave Systems, where she spends her days building quantum computers and sometimes playing with liquid helium.
